The Imperial Japanese Army in the Pacific and mainland Asia - khaki uniforms, island terrain, and an infantry-first war.

Japanese infantry fought in khaki, with a distinctive peaked field cap that often carried a cloth neck flap for sun protection, over uniforms cut for the tropical island fighting that defined the Pacific theatre. Armour played a smaller part than in the European theatres - Japanese tanks were generally light and comparatively few - so the collection leans toward infantry and their support weapons. Most of the fighting this army represents happened in jungle and island terrain rather than open country, which is worth keeping in mind when basing a force: greens and browns suit it better than the flat khaki ground of a European tabletop.
