Aelves of the deep ocean who raid the surface for souls, riding eels and sharks out of a tide that is not really there.
The Deepkin are among the most atmospheric ranges Games Workshop has made. Their armies arrive with a phantom sea rolling ahead of them, so the models are sculpted mid-swim: cloaks trailing upward, hair floating, Akhelian nobles on great eels, and blind Namarti thralls doing the dying. Painting them is a colour exercise rather than a detail one. Pale, translucent skin, teal and turquoise armour, and the popular trick of glazing an underwater light gradient over the whole model all reward patience. Ethereal bases - clear resin, sand, wave effects - are effectively part of the army. Model count is moderate; ambition is where the time goes.
On the table: Fast, elite raiders built around eel cavalry and monsters, striking in force and disengaging rather than holding ground.
