Maggotkin of Nurgle
2 box sets · 23 kits we track
The plague god's followers in the Mortal Realms - joyfully diseased mortals and daemons who advance regardless of what you do to them.
Nurgle's army is patient and cheerful about it. Blightkings in rusted armour, Plaguebearers counting their pustules, Beasts and Great Unclean Ones, and a slow tide of rot that spreads wherever it stops. This is the most forgiving army in the hobby to paint. Nothing is meant to be clean, so rust, verdigris, streaked grime, gloss slime and mottled skin all improve the model, and a mistake usually reads as another symptom. It is a genuinely good place to learn weathering and texture work with no pressure. Model count is moderate and the sculpts are detailed enough that a slow, layered approach also pays off.
On the table: Slow and extraordinarily durable - it walks forward, takes the hits and wins by still being there.
