Space Marines who despise their own flesh and replace it with machinery - cold, methodical and heavily mechanised.
The Iron Hands took their primarch's mutilation as doctrine. Every marine replaces what he can with bionics, and the chapter has close ties to the Machine Cult, so its armies lean towards vehicles, Dreadnoughts and Techmarines more than most. The scheme is black armour with bare metal bionics and a hint of red, which makes them fast to get onto the table and a good study in painting black without it going flat. Chipping and oil-streak weathering suit them better than the parade-ground finish other chapters expect. The bionic detail is the fun part: exposed pistons and augmetic limbs give you a metallic focal point on every model.
On the table: A durable, mechanised marine force that favours vehicles and heavy firepower over speed.
