Bolt Action Great Britain

7 box sets · 63 kits we track

The British Army and its Commonwealth partners - battledress khaki, sensible kit, and some of the best-supported infantry of the war.

British infantry fought in wool battledress with blancoed webbing and the distinctive Brodie-pattern helmet, a silhouette carried from the desert to Normandy with only the details changing - shorts and sand tones in North Africa, the maroon-bereted Denison smock for airborne troops, plain khaki drab everywhere else. Commonwealth troops from Canada, Australia, India and elsewhere fought alongside them in near-identical kit, distinguished mostly by shoulder titles and formation signs. It is a forgiving army to start: one base uniform colour covers most of a platoon, and the interesting decisions are in the details - webbing, insignia, and the different theatre variations rather than a scheme to invent from nothing.

On the table: A dependable, well-supported infantry force that leans on organisation and firepower rather than any one flashy unit.
